“The range of problems Yuriy Musatov covers in his works falls within the sphere of my specific interests in ceramic arts. The artist creates chamber spatial compositions, which are the evidence, not only of his mastery but also perfect command of the essence of creation. Musatov works with various materials from chamotte to porcelain. He is looking for links between the form and the surface as well as its rich structure enlivened by adding coloring pigments. Certain parts are glazed with addition of copper oxide. The combination of geometric and organic elements indicates that the author derived his inspiration both from nature and technology, which has resulted in expressive works linked into the surrounding reality,”

Yuriy Musatov was born in 1981 in Konotop. In 2008 Yuriy Musatov graduated Lviv National Academy of Arts and since 2017, he is a member of UNESCO International Academy of Ceramics in Geneva (IAC) and the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
In the years 2012-2020, he has had more than 12 solo exhibitions, including «My Explosion», Kahan Art Space Budapest, Mudapest, Hungary; «My dreams», Kapolna Gallery (International Ceramic Studio), Kecskemet, Hungary (2022); Project 2020 «Project 2020». He has also participated in 70 group shows including Yingge IAC Members’ Exhibition – New Orientalia in New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum in New Taipei City, Taiwan, Keramik der Welt in Gallery Marianne Heller in Heidelberg, Germany, 18 Biennal de Ceramica D’esplugues in Spain, International Contemporary Ceramic Art Exhibition in Beijing, China, XII Biennial Artistic Ceramics in Portugal, Art for Peace in Korean Cultural Center in Ankara, Turkey, Cluj Ceramics Biennale in Cluj, Romania.
