ABOUT US

Portraits International is an art gallery in the historic centre of Brussels with a cultural club and course-conferences linked to each exhibition. It aims to connect people through art, promote learning from inspiring personalities and release potential.

Co-founders, Claire Soper and Peter van der Hijden, share a passion for the arts, literature and education and developed the concept from the first day they met after lockdown.

To encourage the exchange of ideas, the cultural club meets in the evening twice a week and during a “Salon de Dimanche” that takes place on the last Sunday afternoon of each month (except December and January).

Five major exhibitions are held each year including a group show of the winners of the Portraits International Prize (PIP).

A prize given to help launch the artistic careers of a selection of emerging artists in collaboration with a developing network of international galleries.

Professional corporate services, team building, course-conferences and events are linked to themes of the exhibitions and can be personalised on request as part of our professional services.

The main gallery is situated in Galerie des Princes, 1000 Brussels with its annex in Rue des Dominicains.

It is full of historical charm and natural light and can be rented for private events offering multi-optional break-out areas and the possibility to hold intimate events for small groups or standing events up to 150 people.
