Ievgen Petrov, born in 1972 in Kherson, Ukraine, is considered one of the best contemporary watercolourists in the world. He employs a very rare technique used in contemporary art. An artist who proves that he can stay actual even in a classical, traditional style. Size and accuracy of his works are astonishing however, for him, the technique is less important than his subject. Annoying social phenomena is the key topic of his work. Petrov is a unique documentary maker.
Hs is author of many individual projects, among them: «Petrov’s Dogs’» (2014 – Riga, Latvia) and “Breakwater” (2015 – TSEKH gallery, Kyiv, Ukraine), and participated in the group exhibition «Leap to Europe, 2016 », Vilnius, Lithuania and contemporary art fairs “Positions” in 2015 and 2016 in Berlin and “Contemporary Istanbul” in 2012, in Istanbul.
