The work of Nataliia Korf-Ivaniuk reveals the capacity of colour to create a chromatically harmonious world, able to develop and transform itself and develop and transform the perception of the viewer. She has found this specific visual language, which has become the key point of her painting. Paint texture, fabric and collage help her reach her desired effect, creating different illusions on canvas to engage the audience in an immersive communication with colours.
In the series “paintings-kilims” Nataliia Korf-Ivaniuk paints sacred signs, as if the historical memory was carved with reliefs in our mind. She commemorates the signs of creasing on towels and embroidered shirts, on Easter eggs and old-fashioned kilims, on Hutsul totems, on the emblems of the Ukrainian gentry and the objects of the early Tripilian civilization. Each of her kilim paintings is not just a playful colour synergy on a flat surface – it’s a history of Ukraine fixed in archaic symbols and signs.
Nataliia Korf-Ivaniuk was born in1985, in Kremenchug. She received a Fine Arts master’s degree at the Poltava National Technical University under Y. Kondratyuk.
She is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 2010 and has had 12 solo exhibitions, 11 international shows and 31 local.
She won 1st prize at the All-Ukrainian Exhibition of Landscape «Arkhip Kuindzhi Memorial» in Mariupol in 2012 and 2nd Prize at the MG Deregus show in Kyiv in 2011. She was also winner of the All-Ukrainian Exhibition «Ukrainian Still Life» and won the Third Prize at the All-Ukrainian Exhibition «Triennial of Painting» Kyiv in 2013.
Her works are added to private collections in Ukraine, Canada, France and Germany.
